On Monday 18 March 2024 ladies representing Hastings Golf Club, Napier Golf Club and Waipukurau Golf Club gathered at Waipukurau to contest the Mona Hunter trophy.  This is an annual event however it was cancelled in 2023 due to Cyclone Gabrielle and of course during Covid, when everything stopped.

The trophy has been contested by the three clubs since 1959 and represents the memory of Mona who was a member of all three clubs.  Her love for the sport and her contribution to the game and the clubs to which she belonged is still very much admired to this day.

For 2024 the victorious club is Waipukurau as  shown in the photo with Claire Tippett holding the trophy.  She is joined by Robyn Stallard of Hastings (holding photo of Mona) and Barbara Davis of Napier.
